Ireland has entered a whole new demension on a personal and national level.

We all learned today of a most atrocious incident in the state’s history. No I’m not talking about tourists as Bush would have it - I’m talking about Tourists in the real sense of the word.

Listen to this (if you don’t know about it already).

Three youg guys from America (ages 19 - 21) take their first trip abroad on what is internationally know and a sleep walk or something to that effect. basically what it means is you get the address of someone living in a country and crash a their pad for a night and then find then place to go as you go. All very normal and studenty!  

However, when they got off the plane they were finally confronted by the hardline bitch (could be from any country but certainly no advertisement for Ireland that’s for sure) in the booth who took issue with them firstly because one of them wasn’t the same line and then decided on a whm that because they couldn’t remember the address of the person (whom they didn’t know of course) that they were untrustworthy for entry to the country that used to advertsie itself as having a welcome on the mat.  When they did eventually find it she didn’t want to know and moved on to requiring evidence of their funds to stay in Ireland for two weeks vacation.  As they didn’t have their bank staement with them (sure jaysus don’t we all carry our bank statements with us when we travel abroad?) she brusqely refused them entry, brought them to a holding room (read cell) and told them they would have to return to America at their own expense and that an Airline agent would be with them to arrange it.  They asked if they could speak to someone higher up but were told no - decision was final.

The airline charged them €1300 each which was paid by one of them using his credit card. This he later pointed out was proof - if evidence should have ever been needed - that they had sufficient funds for their stay in Ireland for two weeks.  And bundled off back to America they were.

Two things.

Firstly, the government have spent millions on advertising tourism in America.

Secondly, whilst I think it’s great that we can show that we are just as nasty as the bastards in the the other 50 states (don’t kid yourself we are anything but the 51st state of America) it is grotesque that we have come to this that we are so above ourselveves now that we can allow a bitch of the state to overstep proper conduct in the carrying out of her job.  No man in that posiiton would have ever been so obviously vindictive.  Women are getting worse and worse in society and we really need to put them back in the kitchen.

Where’s the common sense here?  Clearly, these were just three decent lads who were on their first holiday.  All the idiot had to do if she felt they were to be refused entry by her WHATEVER THE REASON, she should have had a boss who would look again at the case BEFORE taking action.

I DESPAIR OF SOCIETY. We are close to creating Armageddon with this kind of nonsense and mindless behaviour.

The year is 1973 and the film I’ve been watching again is Dirty Harry in Magnum Force.

What’s so absolutely remarkable is the age of the people in the normal casual parts of everyday life.  Notwithstanding that the cars and clothes are dated, most of the people are that I am talking about including some of the main characters ar over 50.  In fact there appears to be a clear stepping stone where people of all ages up to their mid-seventies are working and there is hardly a youth or youthful person in sight. In fact now that I think of it there appears to be no teenagers or early twenty-somthings at all.

Isn’t that strange.

It was only 36 years ago and look what we’ve got today. Hardly anyone working over the age of 45 in any responsible job. Youth rules the world. There’s no management system. 

Given that the government are now suggesting that there won’t be any money to pay people pensions and that we should all be expecting to work into our seventies, how stupid they are not to be doing something about allowing pernicious ageism to dominate our lives. 

If only kids are in jobs and the management, how on earth can we ever expect anyone of acumen (by that I mean experience and by that I mean aged) to be re-employed again.

It’s ridiculous.

Yes, I call them criminals and the good for nothing governments whose ineptitude has allowed them to become criminals.

Lloyds announced another 2000 job losses today. And why?

Well, simply, they merged with another giant (allowed by the do-nothing-government) and now they have the excuse to what they like with impunity given the downturn in the economy, they have two sets of people doing the same jobs. So one has to go.  It’s all so easy isn’t it?  You have a company, a successful one at that.  And you have another perhaps bigger company equally successful. Each of the boards of directors driven to produce more and more profits for their Maggie Thatcher created shareholders are left with few other routes than to find other companies and merge with them.  Thereby they reduce costs (e.g. get rid of staff) and increase profits (e.g. reduce options for customers in the High Street).

IT’S JUST GOT TO STOP.

People need jobs. The public needs choice.  Businesses need directors without fear.

Where are the governmnets to stamp out this divisive and ever-decreasing circle of hell?

Whatever happened to "THE MONOPOLIES COMMISSION"?

Am I the only one to notice how television in Britain and Ireland especially the News is 90% women dominated?

We’re supposed to be living in a fairer world but how fair is that women should be so prominant? Even that idiot Harriett Harmon has pushed for a law to insist that where there are two candidates for a job, the female must come first.

When the revolution comes, and the guillotines come out, this is one of those things I won’t forget.

Today those bozos at IMRO - the Irish Music Rights Organisation - or as I like to think of them - IMWO, Irish Music Wrongs Organisation - had a bit of a Carry on! in the old tradition of the term. Now we all have difficulties in understanding that copyright means that people like ONOB (BONO backwards) can rightfully claim entitlement, like the Sheriff of Nottingham, to collect alms from the poor by distressed, hard-pressed, harrassed SME’s and shop owners amongst others like hotels and pubs (who are in decline), and it will be collected at the rate of exhorbitant costs, (well that’s what the accountants say when the claim the god-given right to destroy people’s lives by unnecessarily firing them) but what is unknown is that the vast majority of composers and songwriters get very very little from the distribution.  In the first year, the licence fees are 30% higher to compensate the Agents IMRO second (NOT EMPLOY) to licence new businesses.  Yet they have, in the last twelve months, left a number of territories bereft of Agents whom they have terminated and not replaced even though it cost them nothing. Now’s your chance boys to have fun fun fun and frolics with gay abandon in Cork County, Kerry, Limerick, Wexford, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal. OPh! and if anyone visists you outside these territories, all you have to do is say you won’t eever do it again and you won’t have to pay. Anyway, in order to have any chance in redress where you might be at fault, there’s little they can do if you haven’t signed one of their "Contracts". So my advice is if you haven’t is DON’T SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS THEY PUT A PEASHOOTER TO YOUR HEAD. Even then, just claim you’re not the boss but a lunatic engaged for the fun of it. So if it doesn’t cost them anything to have agents because it’s included in the licence fees it seems like a wierd thing to me that they leave those territories unchartered.  This is accountancy (the cancer of society).

Question is why?

Well, I for one, recognising an Accountant’s footprint when I see one, believe that as sure as eggs is eggs it would be beneficial to such an organisation to MERGE with another in the same field. Well, lookie here what about PPI which does the same job as IMRO but for the record companies. Or maybe even the PRS in ENGLAND. Combine the two and you cut your operation costs in half. However, they deny this. So what’s up doc?

Today, they informed their Agents that all the staff would not be available as they were going to be in a meeting for most of the morning.

No, they weren’t! (Before you ask me, NO - I AM NOT AN AGENT. I AM A WATCHER).

The Agents were being ostracised.

And why?

God knows but it just so happened that Mary, the President of Irela-la-land, was attending the refurbshed offices to officially ‘open’ them.

In these dreadful times when so many are being forced into unemployment by unscrupulous employers, would Irish Royalty have been so willing (politically) to do such a thing for an organisation that treats its employess and associates like vermin!

I beg you, please, someone, explain it to me. I don’t get it.

Ireland has the worst, most incompetent, appalling unable drivers in the world!

Hardly a day goes back that some eejit hasn’t, through their crass stupidity, caused mayhem, if not death, by their driving behaviour and ineptitude.

Yesterday, on the N11 at 8.00pm I enter the Gorey Bypass to be greeted by the Gardai sheercarnage  squad car investigated the remnants of a car that had crashed and wound up on a car-less road upside day, facing the wrong way on the hard shoulder.  Then some clown as I approached suddenly left the scene from behind the cop car and drove out straight in front of me! Tsk!  But what was amazing was that several miles later as I reached the end of the Gorey Bypass what did I see on the opposite side to me I saw - WAIT FOR IT - yes, you’ve probably guessed it, the same scene!!!!! Exactly the same scene. A car upside down on the wrong side, on the hard shoulder with a Gardai Sheercarnage car investigating the carnage. It was a moment of sheer Twilight Zone!

So here’s the big question.  If Insurance Companies base their premiums on the costs of Claims, what’s going on that this country has more carnage than anywhere else per head of the population, and yet premiums are SO LOW.

I give up! Tsk!

In order to save the world there is one solitary thing we must do.

In order to save us from monkeys like the Bush family and particularly the idiot son there is one thing we must do.

In order to save us from inept and irresponsible governments there is one thing we must do.

In order to save us from starvation, deprivation and mass extinction there is one thing we must do.

In order to save use we must destroy ACCOUNTANCY.

It is the cancer of society.

In Ireland’s case it would be T-Shock!

When someone dedicates themselves to politics and spends years rising through the dross to reach the top and actually becomes Prime Minister where they swear blind on a stack of bibles their committment to their country and making people’s lives better, what the fuck ever happens when they are no longer in power?  Do they no longer care about their committments? Do they no longer give a damn about their country and people?  Are they no longer bothered by the carnage (in some cases) they leave behind.

They simply disappear.

How can someone who professes such dedication to his country simply disappear when he falls from power? For Chissakes, doesn’t his fervour still continue nonetheless or was it just an abberation to line his/her pockets?

Well it’s unacceptable. Another nail in the coffin of the system we call democracy.  Democracy is a convenience for the corporations, that’s all.  Oh!, so you get to vote for all the good it does you so why do you keep electing the same type over and over again.

In our new world since the collapse of capitalism, the suggestion is beginning to be mooted that we should be calling up the leading business leaders to get us back on the road. I believe governments ought be peopled by qualified individuals so I also believe that we should have the most able from the business world involved and certainly at a secondary level to make recommendations to be acted upon but I fear this suggestion of bringing these people into the open influence of ‘elected’ represenattives is the thin edge of the wedge as ultimately they will take over complete control and we will seen the end of ‘democracy’ by vote.

Game, set and match by big brother in 2012! or maybe 2099!

It’s hard to believe but easy to understand.

The United States of America, the richest country on the planet, has millions of people receiving food parcels!

Yes, I kid you not.  Food parcels are being handed out and not to the destitute and ever-present few who live as hobos but to ordinary people who have been made paupers by 1) jobs being sent to cheaper areas in the world and 2) by the exploitation of the super rich.

Something has to give and I think we are looking at the end game in the struggle between the powerful and the powerless. Whilst it looks as though the former have it all sewn up I suspect that as it has happened in other times there is a Tsunami of a people’s uprising coming.

If governments can no longer govern because of the power of the corporations we are doomed. And sadly, it is the case. The forthcoming elections will be the last resting place for democracy as people will exact a vengeance on the political elite everywhere. And where will that leave us - prey to the super-rich and the corporations to do what they like.

If anyone thinks this is accidental, let them think again. This is by design and it has been so for the last 150 years.
